Spring Cleaning Your Business Tips

I am just loving this spring weather.  I also have just listed my home and while I was preparing to put it on the market I was organizing closets, removing things from the home, cleaning and so much more I thought about what we should be doing to cleanup our business drivers, systems, programs and all those things that weigh us down.  Do you throw everything on your desktop with good intentions to move it “later”?

Pre-Listing Package – Make It Easy for Your Sellers to Prep their Home

When you go on listing appointments, it is very likely you will encounter sellers that really don’t know what it takes to sell a home. From the pre-listing phase, the listing term to closing and everything in between, sellers need your guidance. Face it, you are selling your service as an agent and most sellers need way more than just someone to handle the paperwork for them.  They need someone to educate them on the process and tell them what to do every step of the way. If you want to really provide exceptional service to your clients, build them a step by step guide to selling their home that gives them direction on how to navigate each step of the process.

Pre-Listing Packages | First Impressions Mean Everything!  

If you want to put a guide together for your sellers, start at the very beginning with the pre-listing phase and detail every single thing your seller needs to do by creating checklists that cover each phase of the process. The effort you put into this will pay off for you as well since the homes you list will be prepared for the market and your sellers will better understand the process. If you want to put together a guide for your sellers, here are the different phases you should cover.

  • Cleaning
  • Decluttering
  • Curb Appeal

How detailed should you be? Extremely! While so many of these items may seem obvious to you, for first time sellers and even many of those that have sold a home before, this is not common knowledge. Think about the last time you put together a piece of furniture and the directions that you had to go along with it. If you had carefully detailed instructions, it made the job easy. If the instructions weren’t detailed enough, you likely felt confused and unsure of what to do. Try to make this process as easy as it can be and extra detail will do just that.
