Life on the Ranch
I live in East Texas on a ranch in Mineola with my husband Paul. We have been married for over 40 years. That is not a detail I throw in casually. Four decades of choosing the same person every day is something I am genuinely grateful for.
We have three sons, two incredible daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren who remind us both exactly why all of it matters.
Phillip married his college sweetheart Heather in October 2014. They live in Aubrey, Texas where he works as a production manager with a custom home builder in the Dallas market. Heather is a talented content creator, which I am lucky to have on my team. Or, should I say how lucky you are to have her on your team. Together they have two children together.
Eric is a computer designer for a Tyler granite company. He married his high school sweetheart Samantha in 2018. Samantha teaches for Tyler ISD and instructs dance. Together they have one daughter.
Stephen owns a social media and video company in Tyler, Texas. He enjoys skateboarding, traveling and photography.
When the whole family gets together enjoying all that our little piece of heaven has to offer. Then there is the kind of loud, full-house energy that only comes from people who genuinely love being together.
Faith First
Every decision I make, every client I take on, every team member I hire, every program I build comes back to the same question: is this the right thing to do? Not just the profitable thing, not just the easy thing. The right thing.
Faith is why I tell clients the truth when the truth is hard. Faith is why I have stayed successful for 25 years even when I could have easily walked away. Faith is why I care about the agents I serve the way I do. It is the most honest thing I can tell you about who I am.
We are a truly blessed family who is grounded by our faith. That is not something I put on this page because it sounds good. It is the truest thing I know about us.
The Animals, the Garden, and Everything Else
We have a tremendous amount of love for animals. Our current rescues are Rocket, Oscar, and Lucy. They were all saved and they are all home now. That matters to us.
When I am not working you will find me practicing yoga, going to flea markets, scrapbooking, cross stitching, gardening, reading, fishing, and traveling whenever we can. I am someone who is happiest with my hands in the dirt, a good book nearby, and people I love within reach.
I also believe in giving back. We support animal foundations and The Children's Miracle Network. If you are looking for a charity to support, please consider your local Children's Miracle Network. The work they do for children and families in your community is worth your attention.

People sometimes wonder what a ranch in East Texas, three grandchildren, and a love of flea markets have to do with running a real estate virtual assistant company.
Everything, actually.
The same values that run my personal life run my business. Loyalty. Honesty. Showing up. Doing the work. Taking care of people. Not cutting corners. Staying the course when things get hard.
I built Kim Hughes and Company in 1999 from my dining room table with three young boys underfoot. I was not trying to build an empire. I was trying to solve a real problem for real people. Twenty-five years later that is still exactly what I am doing.
The agents I work with are not accounts. They are people I genuinely want to see succeed. I know what it looks like to build something from scratch while raising a family. I know what it costs. I know what it is worth. That understanding is in every conversation I have and every system I help build.
