Supported Charities

For years my family has been involved in various charities, but we have found the one’s listed below to be our favorite. If you are looking to donate your time or money to a good cause, please consider these great organizations.

These are our local charities, but if you Google any of the below, I am sure you will find a chapter in your area. Our choose a charity that is located in your area to become involved with. Do it from the heart!

Getting the entire family involved is a great way to spend time together and help others. Teach your children to always help others. They will grow into wonderfully caring individuals and will carry on the tradition of helping those that can’t always help themselves.

The East Texas Crisis Center is an organization that helps families who may have lost their home to a fire or other disaster. They provide food, clothing and furnishings. This organization is one that is extremely dedicated to helping those that are less fortunate than us and is always there to help the children.

Toy for Tots

The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a shiny new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to needy youngsters that will motivate them to grow into responsible, productive, patriotic citizens and community leaders.

Cystic Fibrosis

I became involved with the CF Foundation several years ago, when a friend of mines daughter was born with the disease. Through careful research and generous donations the CF Foundation is getting closer to a cure everyday.

Heather McCoy was 26 years old when she lost her battle to CF. She left behind a mother, father, sister, brother and a young daughter. Heather was full of life and always had a smile on her face no matter what she was facing. She never complained and was just a joy to be around.

Heather was a true inspiration to everyone. Her family are such wonderful people and it is sad that there was not a cure found in time to save Heather’s life, but with your help I am sure there will be a cure and because of your donation to this worthy cause we can save the children of the future from this disease.

Your support to find a cure is imperative, so please if you are going to support a charity look into the CF Foundation to see how you can help.

You always think….that will never happen to my family and then it does!

Our youngest sons’ twins were born at 34 weeks.  Because they were born so early and even though they were very healthy they needed to develop a little more before coming home.

If you have never experienced the NICU it is a place of love, comfort and miracles happen here.  Once you walk through those doors to the NICU nothing else in the world matters.  It’s like time has stopped.  The NICU is a place where no one wants to be, yet you thank God for the NICU and what it offers to our babies.

I cannot tell you how blessed we were to have a NICU in our area and one of the best!  Those nurses are angels on earth and what they do for those babies is just beyond comprehension.

When we walked in that room in the NICU for the first time it was so overwhelming.  We saw our sweet babies hooked up to all types of equipment.  Thanking God again that we have this type of equipment to help our babies grow and get all the help they need.

I was talking with the NICU nurse and asked about all the equipment they each had.  She took her time to explain to me all the details and then she said… this equipment costs a total of around $600,000 and it was here because of the Children’s Miracle Network.

Since 1983 Children’s Miracle Network has raised money to help those children in need and to provide them with the best care!

The really amazing thing is the money raised in your area goes to that hospital to help the community.  That totally impressed me!

The twins were in the NICU for 22 and 24 days and during that time they received the most loving care from every single medical person that saw them and we are so ever grateful to Christus Trinity Mother Francis, their entire staff and Children’s Miracle Network for all they did to help our babies and us as we navigated through uncharted territory.  We are forever grateful to the entire NICU staff and to CMN.
